Trauma Resolution and Somatic Experiencing® (SE™)

Massage and craniosacral therapy can play a key role in the quick and complete recovery from physical injury and emotional trauma. It is designed to work with body tissues in the process of reparation and healing. Kate is specifically trained to work with recovery from overwhelming experiences. She completed her training Somatic Experiencing® (SE™) in 2016, and continues to study with supervision from leaders in the field of integration and trauma resolution. She has completed advanced study with Brigit Viksnins, MAT, BCST®, SEP, LMT, NCTMB, John and Anna Chitty, BCST, RPP, and Ray Castellino, RPP, BCST®,
Bodywork for Stabilization and Resiliency is a blend of Somatic Experiencing® (SE™), Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy, Pre and Perinatal Therapy, and Myofascial Massage. It involves repairing and releasing patterns associated with overwhelming events in our lives. It is not regressive; it is present time and resource oriented. It focuses on identifying states in the body, the functional range of the nervous system, and ways to release held patterns in connection and safety. Education about nervous system state change is a big part of the therapy. It involves feeling states in the body.
Families often come to resolve overwhelming experiences related to birth and the postpartum period.
Somatic Experiencing What is SE? From the SE Website: "SOMATIC EXPERIENCING (SE) is a potent mind-body method for resolving trauma symptoms and relieving chronic stress. It is the life’s work of Dr. Peter A. Levine, resulting from his multidisciplinary study of stress physiology, psychology, ethology, biology, neuroscience, indigenous healing practices, and medical biophysics, together with over 45 years of successful clinical application. The SE approach releases traumatic shock, which is key to transforming PTSD and the wounds of emotional and early developmental attachment trauma."
"SE offers a framework to assess where a person is “stuck” in the fight, flight, freeze, or collapse responses and provides clinical tools to resolve these fixated physiological states. It provides effective skills appropriate to a variety of healing professions including, mental health, medicine, physical and occupational therapies, bodywork, addiction treatment, first response, education, and others. I blend this approach with polarity health coaching, an approach that identifies specific states in the body and creates conditions for change using awareness, titration and pendulation simular to Somatic Experiencing®. This approach, developed by John Chitty, focuses on the present time bodily felt sense and the wisdom of the autonomic nervous system. The body has a natural way it pendulates once the conditions are set. This approach focuses more on conditions rather than causality, and transfers tools to the client.
At Belvedere Integrated Healing Arts, we combine sensation, imagery, movement, affect and meaning. The bodywork offered at Belvedere Integrated Healing Arts focuses on sensation, imagery and movement helping to release constriction in the body related to overwhelming events. The approach also involves the use of mindfulness combined with sensation that helps shift states. I have worked with clients to repattern the follow experiences:
