Somatic Trauma Resolution: A Health Centered Approach

Kate has over two decades of training in somatic trauma healing approaches. Many of her years were spent in understanding the impacts of our earliest experiences from preconception through the first years of life.  Additional training includes understanding states in our bodies related to our autonomic nervous system. Basically, we ask and answer one question every day often quite unconsciously: Am I Safe? We often live in a state connected to our unconscious perception. Somatic Trauma Resolution Skills employed at Belvedere Integrated Healing Arts seek to help you become more aware of your states, your history, and the health in your system. In fact, we start with the health as a baseline. You are here, in our office. There are leadings and intuitions you have. There are people, places, pets and activities that support you in some manner. We help you uncover and feel those with five categories of practitioners skills:
  • Skills of Being
  • Skills of Relationship
  • Skills of Listening
  • Skills of Recognition
  • Skills of Conversation
We come back to how you feel in your body. The levels of inquiry and presence that we bring to your sessions can be over zoom (internet) or in person. We also offer education and training for people of all skill levels, and can direct you to resources for further healing and support.

We work to address all your layers of experience, starting from preconception where genetics and epigenetics may play a role in the present. How we are conceived, especially if we are intentionally prepared for or not, is another layer. If we are not a wanted spirit in this life, then that can be a early layer. We come into relationship with our parents and the lineages, and we think and feel the difficulty is about us when it was there before we arrived. There are also deep mysteries that happen during pregnancy. Our prenatal lives are rich, with development of organs and nervous systems. Earliest layers of neurodevelopment happen here. If there is difficulty here, it may not show up until we are young adults. Birth impacts every gene in our body, and then we build relationships with our parents and families as the outside baby. If there was birth trauma, separation at birth, relinquishment, illnesses and challenges in our environment here, it can all play a role in how we feel about ourselves today and what our bodies do. It is never too late to address earliest trauma. That is what we do here.
